Use the clues below to figure out what famous Northwest landmark this boy is crossing.
Clue 1: Cable cars like this one were once used to cross Washington’s largest river.
Clue 2: Salmon once hurled themselves upstream here to reach their spawning grounds.
Clue 3: The Yakama, Warm Springs, Umatilla, and Nez Perce people often passed through here. They
called it "Wy-am," or "echo of falling water."
Clue 4: There used to be hundreds of fishing stations here. Fishers built wooden platforms over
the water and used dipnets to catch salmon.
Clue 5: In 1957, this site was flooded with water that backed up after The Dalles Dam was built.
